The experience is an interactive multisensorial installation that presents love like a tree. The fruits from this tree, represent the phases one goes through within love. Just as in love, every experience is different, because different combinations are made in fruits, or in other words feelings. By means of light and audio one is guided through the installation for an own Taste of Love experience.
What is romantic love? There are countless books and articles written about love and how it works. Everyone has something different to say about it. There is not one answer to give, love is extremely complex and confusing.
The incomprehension of love can be frustrating. I wish to comprise love in a different way. In this way, I want to create more understanding and empathy around the subject of love. What is the personal experience like? What are the emotions an individual goes through? Instead of describing these feelings in words, I want to translate the experience of love into an experience. Through the use of metaphors to relevant events, feelings, and emotions, is the experience of love translated into tangible products within an installation.
To frame the subject of love, I came together with relationship therapist Esther Cat on the following phases: temptation, intimacy, and pragma (long-term love). Separate designs are made for each phase and brought together in the physical experience of love: ‘A Taste of Love’. The experience is for everyone who is looking for an individual love experience, to (re)discover love in an innovative and physical way.
