Finding Comfort in Discomfort

This research pays attention to discomfort, worry and awkwardness prompted by interactions that surround the greeting ceremony, like handshakes, kisses and waving. Next to answering questions like “Why can greeting be such an uncomfortable event andhy do we worry about such seemingly mundane encounters?”, interviews and surveys with over 400 respondents were conducted to examine their personal experiences with greeting and the discomfort that comes with it at times.

After doing a survey of around 400 people, I interviewed about 40 of them to talk about moments while greeting when they felt most awkward
