For my graduation project, I worked together with my classmate Mireille Kiesewetter on a 2D animated short film titled ‘MIND THE GAP’. The film focuses on a boy called Luke, travelling around with public transport in a surreal and decayed city inspired by London. Luke is highly sensitive to his surroundings and also extremely empathic. To filter his emotions and the emotions of others, he makes use of a small stress ball. However, Luke comes to learn he cannot rely on this stress ball forever and needs to find a more efficient and effective way to deal with his internal struggle.
Target Audience
We think the film is especially engaging and valuable for people who recognize themselves as being highly sensitive and very empathic, because these traits form the foundation of the main character and the story of the film.
Goal
By telling the story of a highly sensitive boy, who learns how to effectively deal with the chaos and complexity of the world and the people around him, we hope to teach our audience a lesson about how to remain true to yourself.
